My G-string broke on my guitar, what should I do with the other strings until I buy some new strings? I was tuning the G-string and went too tight with it and it snapped. What should I do with the other strings (which were in tune before the string snapped): loosen them or just don't touch them? I know there can be issues with the neck if left like this too long, and i want to minimize the effects of not having the third string on the guitar.

should i file my G nut to get my size 13 strings to fit? g string is elevated on the nut by the headstock... i think it is causing some tonal issues. Stratocaster. if this is okay or the best possible solution or is it normal when playing thirteens since there is a saddle on the b and e strings making them less elevated and the angle is slightly greater so it becomes more elevated on the g string? just use a wounded 26 to slightly sand the nut?
